Sew-a-thon for Bangladesh
Eight women brought their sewing machines to the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto in August, 2015. We sewed red zigzag borders round all 320 petals, and starched and ironed them. Red thread became the aesthetic metaphor of the artwork, symbolizing both unity and struggle of the garment workers.
